Statement of faith:

Posted by Benjamin P. Brooks on January 16, 2015 at 9:30am 2 Comments

I just posted this on Facebook. I love it way better on this site than on there but I had to get an account for a Spanish class I'm not kidding. Anyway here it is to set the record straight:

Acts 2:38 "Then Peter said unto them repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." There are three parts to salvation Repentance(Asking God for forgiveness and the removal of your sins), Baptism(Full…

UAB Football

Posted by Benjamin P. Brooks on December 6, 2014 at 9:24pm 1 Comment

I know it's National news now about the UAB Football team being disbanded. Yes it's a horrible thing to cut over 100 scholarships. I have been in two protests already against the change and the movement is growing rapidly over the entire campus. (I go there) If anyone is on twitter you can help and support us fight this decision or learn more at #FreeUAB. Pray for us though that no one gets hurt in these protests. Thank you.:)

Love

Posted by Benjamin P. Brooks on November 13, 2014 at 12:30am 0 Comments

Ahhh Yes. Love is in the air....young people are hooking up. Older single people are hooking up. The spirit of Christmas and giving is in the air.:) Christ is love.:) He has put a certain young lady in my life whom I love very much...However, Christ is the head of my life and His will trumps mine. I love Him more and that's the way it should be.:)

Christmastime Is Here

Posted by Benjamin P. Brooks on November 1, 2014 at 11:32pm 0 Comments

I know I know we are supposed to wait until after Thanksgiving for the Christmas season but it's Nov. 1 and the local radio station is playing "Deck the Halls" and "O Holy Night." So don't fight the Christmas spirit but  rember why we give so much...because 2,000 years ago God gave us a chance to live with the birth of that baby. So be happy and thankful and praise hard Jesus is more than worthy of it.

I'm planting this year, using the Bible as my guide. :)

"That's the saddest plant story I've ever heard Madeline! :( My favorite house plants are citrus (lemon, orange, grapefruit) The flowers have a very sweet fragrance, plus you get fruit! :) Have you ever grown one?"
